Blog Assignment #3:
Okay...So you're all finished with your novels, right?Right? Excellent!
What I want to know is:
1. What was the climax of the story? Some of you have already talked about this in class, but I want each group to come to a consensus.
2. What was the social commentary?
3. Why did you like/dislike the novel? Don't just say "I thought the story was good"... I want some opinion and thought, here! Also, I don't want you to write "it sucked" without backing up your opinion with some good, critical comments. Think of a movie review. Those reviewers never just say "it sucked"... they give evidence and details.And... it's okay to dislike your book!
One day, Raymond brings Meursault and Marie to the beach to visit his friend, Masson.
I believe the climax of our story is when our main charcter goes back to the beach on shots the Arab, and when he's on the ground shots him three more times. I also believe when the media is covering is trial is a big part to.
I think that there's more than one social commentary in our book, The obvious one where murder catches the attention of everyone even if you are a nobody, but also i believe there's something to do with death because as our main charcter is in jail he gets to feel how his mom felt being in that old's person home, and when he convicted he's dead just like how his mom died. There's alot to do with detachment, how our main charcter keeps to himselve and as a sort of nothingness kind of personality!
I like this novel because it starts off slow but slowly pulls you in, like a spider when it's catching its prey slowly watching but quick to kill. It is kind of pridictable but it's not hollywood where the guy goes free in the end because of what ever dumb reason hollywood comes up with. I Like how it touch the issue that murder is every society interst not only america but africa too, stating that many countries are alike. This book just had murder and i girl who stuck by her mans side and still wanted to get married even though he killed someone that just is soo easy to realate to reality!
Now i'm going to go eat my nice yummy crepe and watch csi!!!

ooo... nice spider simile! I like the connections you make between Meursault and his mother, too. Nice job!
